Connecting and empowering women and genderqueer people in the Arizona climbing community

Donate

The Arizona Women’s Climbing Coalition (AZWCC) connects and empowers women and genderqueer people through rock climbing. By doing so, we hope to develop an inclusive community and foster environmental stewardship. We aim to help shape and inspire women and genderqueer leaders in our rock climbing communities so that they may achieve their rock climbing goals through community, education, outdoor recreation, and fitness, while seeking to protect and care for our public climbing lands in order to secure access now and for future generations of climbers.

  • EMPOWER

We empower women and genderqueer people to achieve their goals in rock climbing by providing community support, educational opportunities, and showing women what is possible by elevating the accomplishments of women in our climbing communities.

  • CONNECT

Our local chapters are run by existing, experienced members of the local gym community. These events allow women of all abilities to meet members of their local community, develop friendships, and learn from each other in a casual setting.

  • INCLUDE

Diverse communities are healthy communities. Our events are open to anyone who identifies as a woman, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, or ability.

  • EDUCATE

Climbing is a sport that often requires mentorship to advance. We provide educational opportunities to women so they can obtain reliable information in a safe and supportive environment.

  • GIVE BACK

We don’t just want our climbing communities to flourish – we want the world around us to flourish, too. The AZWCC partners with local charities to lend a hand to women outside of our climbing communities. We also organize environmental stewardship events to maintain our local crags and educate climbers on Leave No Trace principles.
